Baby Naming Ceremony in Kent and London

A BEAUTIFUL BABY NAMING DAY CEREMONY

Naming day ceremonies are a wonderful alternative to a traditional christening where Godparents or Guideparents vow to be an important part of the child's life (rather than promising to bring them up with belief in God). It is led by me: Justine, I'm an experienced celebrant who is great with children.

The ceremony itself can be traditional yet relaxed, a mixture of faith elements if appropriate and indoors or outdoors - it will be written just for you and will reflect your lives. Filled with joy and love, a naming ceremony is the perfect way to celebrate the birth of your child and formally introduce them to your family and friends. I have led naming ceremonies at The Dorchester, Soho House in London and stunning garden venues throughout Kent and Sussex.

A baby naming ceremony creates a space and time to recognise those people that you have chosen to have a special role in your child's life. It may be more meaningful to your chosen Godparents or Guideparents if they are not religious and would not feel comfortable standing up in a church to make promises that are not true to their beliefs. Guideparents will make promises to guide your child through life and be there for your child with love, advice and maybe even a bottle of bubbly or a pint on their 18th! I will explore the meanings of the names and officially present your child with these names on the day as part of the ceremony.

Feedback from families is always really positive because it is a great way of welcoming your baby into your family and it is a great excuse to get dressed up and take lots of family photos.
There so many creative ways to celebrate your child and to name them in front of those you love!

We can discuss music choices and have special readings or poems - why not include siblings or other family member in the ceremony?

Some people like to have some symbolic elements such as creating a thumb print tree keepsake or planting a tree - or what about sealing a box of port with hand-written messages inside from everyone at the ceremony that can be opened on your baby's 21st birthday?!

The family usually continues the celebration after the ceremony, at the same location - so once everyone arrives, there is no need to relocate which makes the whole process so relaxed for everyone.

Get in touch and let's discuss your baby's ceremony.

I will happily quote for ceremonies in Kent, Sussex, Surrey and London.
