ARRANGE A FUNERAL IN MAIDSTONE
I am a funeral celebrant in Maidstone so let me help guide you through your funeral options. Maidstone is the largest town in Kent and it therefore offers a vast array of options when organising a funeral or a memorial for a loved one. In the Maidstone area, you may assume that a funeral will need to take place at Vinters Park Crematorium (where you are only allowed 30 minutes of ceremony time) or in a church if you are religious. BUT THAT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE - there are many options you can also consider to beautifully celebrate a life!
You can hold a funeral for your loved one in a calm, beautiful setting near Maidstone and continue the wake at the same location so that no-one needs to move between the two parts of the event. This ceremony can be outside or in a stunning venue or somewhere that means something to you.
As a Funeral Celebrant, I will work with your chosen Funeral Director (I can recommend some really good ones) and the venue to provide a very respectful and beautiful occasion. |

The ceremony will be all about your special person plus there will be no strict time constraints that you may experience at the crematorium and no feeling that you are on a conveyor belt of funerals - as the venue will be yours for however for as long as you need it on that day.
Alternatively you can have a small, private or unattended cremation at the crematorium and then a celebration of life ceremony with all the guests that you want to invite within a week of the cremation or later if you prefer.
The ceremony will be incredibly meaningful and special but you will have their ashes in situ rather than a coffin. This can be a fabulous option if the venue has difficult access, or if you want to delay the ceremony for any reason, maybe they died abroad, perhaps you don't want to be looking at the coffin for the entire ceremony or you don't want to spend money on parts of the funeral that do not warrant large expenditure such as an expensive coffin, a hearse, expensive funeral sprays of flowers (why not have gorgeous flowers or plants that can be taken home and admired), chapel time which is charged and even embalming (which is also incredibly invasive!) - if you are having a direct cremation the process can often be organised much more quickly and therefore embalming is not necessary. You can instead either save all that money or put it towards celebratory food and drink at the wake.

HOW TO ORGANISE A FUNERAL IN MAIDSTONE
If you can do some planning ahead of the death of your loved one - it might be easier to make unrushed decisions. I would recommend doing some research in advance (I know however this is not a luxury we are all afforded and unfortunately often these decisions have to be made whilst you are grieving). Any forward planning that you can do, will make the final decisions easier so why not email me as soon as possible.
